Build the medieval countryside around the walled city of Carcassonne, one tile at a time. Each turn you draw and place a tile — extending a road, growing a city, adding a field, or founding a cloister — then decide whether to send out one of your followers as a knight, thief, farmer, or monk to help score points as those features are completed. Simple to learn and endlessly replayable, this modern classic includes the Abbot and River mini-expansions for extra variety right out of the box.
